Editorial standards

Editorial independence

The directory exists so a purchase decision can be defended. That only works if the record is independent of the people selling the tools, and if the rules behind it are published.

How listings are ordered

When listings are ordered at all, three inputs decide the order:

  • Relevance to the category or search the reader is looking at.
  • Completeness of the twelve recorded fields for that listing.
  • How recently the facts were verified against the vendor's pages.

Payment is not an input. Sponsorship, affiliate commission and sales conversations have no effect on the order of category pages, search results or comparison placement.

Paid placements are labelled

Every paid placement carries a Sponsored label wherever the listing appears, and the listing page states that the placement is sponsored. Affiliate links are disclosed where they are used.

A label means exactly what it says: someone paid for visibility. It is not a recommendation, and it does not mean the facts were reviewed under a different standard.

What we write, and what we do not

  • We describe what a tool does, how it measures, and who it is for, using the vendor's own terminology where it is precise.
  • We do not publish words like best or leading. A superlative is not a fact and cannot be sourced.
  • We do not pass vendor marketing copy off as a verified record, and we do not make comparative claims without a source.
  • If a vendor sends an adjective, we ask for the fact behind it. If there is no fact, the adjective is not published.

Verification is not endorsement

The verification date records when a reviewer last checked the record against the vendor's pages. It is not a score, a ranking or a recommendation.

A listing can be accurate and still be a poor fit for a particular evaluation. The record exists so that the reader can decide, with the sources in front of them.

Corrections

If a listing records something that is wrong or out of date, send the listing and the official page that shows the current value to support@greenaix.com. The correction process is:

  • We recheck the claim against the source and correct the record within five business days.
  • The verification date is updated when a record is corrected.
  • A field that cannot be supported by an official source is removed rather than left standing, and it reads Not stated instead.

Who edits the directory

Records are edited by the GreenAIX team. Sponsorship and sales conversations are kept out of the editing process: a vendor cannot pay to have a fact written, changed or removed, and the verification process is the same for a sponsored listing as for any other.
